Iain Drake, a Martian-born citizen of the Alliance, is a gravmage by trade. He currently works with the Broken Company as a pseudo-freelance gravmage, if reluctantly, though it is the highest paying work he is capable of on Jupiter Anchorage, which he calls home. He has rudimentary training in all arts of technomancy through his time in the Alliance Orbital Avengers, primarily in order to ensure capability with gear as opposed to actual technomantic skill. Iain's neural bias lends him towards gravimancy, in which he is fully trained as a Vanguard.
As a freelancer, Iain maintains himself as a law-abiding citizen, and often takes jobs in assistance of the Anchorage security forces or to apprehend criminals.

Early Life
Born on Mars to Jacob and Ellen Drake, Iain joined the Alliance military as an infantryman instead of attending a university. After he realized he outpaced many of his peers mentally, he chose to apply to become an Orbital Avenger. His application was accepted after only two years of infantry service.

Career
Iain was trained in all manners of technomancy for their numerous benefits and has numerous implants separate from his technomancy skills to improve his ability to handle high G-forces, carry heavy loads, and improve athletic attributes such as jump distance, endurance, and adaptability to multiple environments.
Most of his training was on Elysium, including harsh environment training on the eastern face of Titanerest and jungle training along the planet's equator. Supplemental training included the moons Acheron and Styx. Acheron is volcanically active and has a set of small rings around it from heavy ash and a sulfur rich atmosphere. Styx has low gravity and high temperature variances like Earth's moon. Much of his insertion and infiltration training were conducted at Kapperhorn proving grounds, 10LY from Elysium, where the Alliance conducts ship testing. By this time, it was determined he was to be initiated into the Alliance Gravtech school.
Following training, Iain was an active member of the OA for six years. His initial drops were conducted in the Uruk Wastes as a part of snatch-and-grab efforts against pirate warlords and drug-traffickers. Iain spent a year of his contract assisting training Thresholder and Veridian forces in orbital drop training, and spent time as a consultant for weaponry and equipment testing, as well as odd-missions requiring a heavy Alliance-hand. No true wars were fought during Iain's service period.
