The Standoff Land Attack Missile is the land version of the missile.

The missile can be launched from multiple platforms,such as:

  • Fixed wing aircraft

  • Naval vessels

  • Mobile ground batteries

Development

This missile has become the main cruise missile for the UNSC that people say why not replace it.Several other missiles have been developed over time,but Howler was considered a pillar,so many variants have been produced.

Variants:

  1. ASM 15 Block 1 was the first produced variant in  3120 and had a conventional warhead.

  2. ASM 15 Block 2 was the second version and improvements in the electronics,countermeasures and onboard targeting system.

  3. ASM 15 Block 3 is an improvement of Block 2 mainly the missile was able to reach targets both in space and ground.

  4. ASM 15 Block 4  was first produced in 3280 had an expanded engagement envelope, enhanced resistance to electronic countermeasure and improved targeting.There was also an improve data link to allow the missile to receive in-flight targeting updates.Also the warhead was a NHEAT to insure increased firepower and better damages to enemies of Norcia.

  5. ASM 15 Block 5 was produced in 3300 with a tactical nuke of 12 mega tonnes.

  6. ASM 15 Block 6 was produced in 3301 as a NHEAT missile with 15Mt to better improve the firepower of the UNSC.

  7. The Standoff Land Attack Missile was developed as a ground version of the Howler.It was produced in 2 variants:one on mobile platforms and one in missile silo.
