Do wormholes exist in this universe? or is it just something that has been confirmed false?

No wormholes as far as I understand it.

Wormholes do exist as the Termini which link what we have termed Spheres of Influence, as they connect solar systems roughly 200LYs apart, some of these solar systems connecting to more than one to create fast methods of travel.

Termini are instantaneous travel-points, which are difficult to locate, as they can be in a wide range of areas in the solar system; they don’t necessarily have to be next to a planet that is habitable; Sol’s Termini is near Jupiter, for instance. One of the things we are planning on implementing into the point system is the ability to “buy” a Termini-route for your nation to “discover,” linking spheres of influence that are as of yet unlinked to each other.

It’s not even so much that wormholes don’t exist. Its just that humanity hasn’t found any, and we don’t really have a way to travel them efficiently and safely.

David’s point the Termini is spot on. They are really our way have handling that kind of instantaneous travel and are more tied to the way we do FTL in this universe than anything else.
