Catus Prayd was a Ionian marine sergeant attached to the Ionian Destroyer ILS Praesidus in 3420. He was believed to have been lost with the rest of his team after descending to the world designated UTB-334/12, known colloquially as Hilos.
Born on Carthag, Catus Prayd joined the Unified Ionian Navy in search of a better life, to get out of the slums of his homeworld. Catus is known to have participated in the Tolean Intervention in 3412, as well as been deployed as part of an Ionian strike-group during the subsequent Baqqiri Stagnate.
Prayd and the ILS Praesidus arrived at Hilos following an archaic distress beacon, beaming distress codes into the void in Old Ionian. Responding to the distress signal, Prayd was put in charge of a UIN Marine recon team, and dispatched to the planet's surface. Enroute his dropship was caught in a sudden and vicious storm, crash landing on the world and killing most of his recon team.
By chance or by fate, Prayd was found by local natives, who dragged his body back to their meager village, in the shadow of a ancient, degrading colony transport. There Prayd was nursed back to health, and it was then that he made a miraculous discovery; these primitive people were the Lost Tribe of Hilos, men and women who's ancestors were sent beyond the veil by the ancient Ossyrian Empire centuries prior.
