Vanoc Amyntar was the Legate of the 7th Legion and later first King of Ptelea who is best known for commanding his Legion and the rebels of the Ossyrian Civil War in the early 29th century.

Born a prince of the Ptelean noble households, Amyntar was adopted by the Imperial household. Over time he learned classical Ionian, and served in the military as a centurion in the Empire's 7th Legion. Slowly he became a favourite of Emperor ---, becoming a second son to him. After serving with distinction in the ---, he was sent to Ptelea to aid the local satrap --- in completing the Ossyrian conquest of the Ptelean houses. While in this capacity, Amyntar secretly plotted a Ptelean revolt against Roman rule, which culminated in the ambush and destruction of an entire Ossyrian legion.

In the aftermath of the battle, Amyntar fought retaliatory invasions by the Ossyrian general --- in the battles of ---, ---, and the ---, and deposed a rival, the --- king ---. He is remembered in Ptelean legends for generations afterwards. The Ionian historian --- designated Amyntar as the liberator of the Ptelean houses and commended him for having fought the Ossyrian Empire to a standstill at the peak of its power.
