The Sons of Lightning is a military organisation active in the western portion of the Known Galaxy, renown for their militaristic piratical tendencies and practice of slavery.
Allegedly established from the VII Legion of the Ossyrian Empire, the Legions of Naden have built a reputation over the prevailing centuries following their appearance in the West as bloodily efficient mercenaries, pirates and slavers. Made up of over twenty different Cohorts, rare is it for more than one cohort to operate in the same theatre of operation; however, on occasion, the Legions will deploy more than one cohort for prioritized missions, armed in the panoply of war similar to those of their ancestors of the Ossyrian legions.
As of the 3400's, the Sons of Lightning plague the nations of the western Known Galaxy, raiding colonies for fresh slaves for their auxiliaries, and fighting proxy conflicts on behalf of numerous different political groups and financial blocs.
