The Pandegean Sea Emperor, or simple known as a Sea Emperor, is a large aquatic life-form native to the world of Foslara and a member of its large crustacean family. It is the second largest aquatic life-form on the planet, measuring up to 70 meters in length.

The Sea Emperor is massive in size, with most of the it’s body being comprised of a thick carapace with a rounded, triangular front. The largest Sea Emperor ever recorded stretched up to 190 meters in length. Most of the Sea Emperors topside and some of its underside is protected by a thick layered chitinous exoskeleton. This suggests an evolutionary path quite different from other organisms of Foslaras Oceans, most of which are vertebrate in nature.

Sea Emperors have had a particular prominent place in Foslaran folk lore, usually taking on the embodiment of destructive sea creatures of monstrous size. A number of ballads and plays dating back to the Ionian Dark Age enforce this image, as well as the few surviving maps of Foslara’s oceans.
