The Baqqiri Marches is an expanse of space between the borders of the Ionian League and the Gaennid Empire roughly twenty light years in width at its widest and seventy light years length. Numerous jump routes pass through the Marches.
A mixing pot of cultures, numerous charted and uncharted colonies can be found strewn across the Baqqiri Marches; from developing colony worlds to trading posts straddling major Jump Routes. The position of the Baqqiri Marches, and the significance it has long held has seen it become a battle ground on more than one occasion between the ancient powers of Ionia and the venerable Gaennid Empire. These conflicts, though ancient, have scarred the region for millenia to come, for better or worse. Numerous nation states and burgeoning colonies can trace their liniage back to either Ionia or Gaennaan, such as the Grand Archonate of Sadar, Principality of Tolea, Alexandrian Republics and the Othman Kingdom
Under the Free Worlds Treaty, the sovereign, developing nation states of the Baqqiri Marches are guaranteed their independence and protection by the Peripherian League. The treaty was enacted following controversy after the Peripherian League's extended intervention on Tolea, stationing armed forces on the planets surface and within the Golgassa System long after the conflict had subsided. The tensions following the Peripherian intervention, remembered as the Baqqiri-Peripherian Stagnate, nearly led to the establishment of a coalition of Baqqiri Worlds, opposed to the Peripherian League. After extended talks between Ionian, Gaennai and Baqqiri representatives, the Free Worlds Treaty was established, ending the Stagnate and opening the trans-Baqqiri trade routes.

Free Wolds Triumvirate
The Free Worlds Triumvirate is a quasi-political block composed of the Othman Kingdom, Alexandrian Republics and the Principality of Tolea, three of the more powerful Marcher states within the Baqqiri Marches. Established following the Tolean Intervention in 3412, the Free Worlds Triumvirate was formed with the signing of the Free Worlds Treaty; it's purpose to check the Imperialistic ambitions of its march larger neighbors and guarantee its continued sovereignty among the stars. Whilst a seperate entity, the Free Worlds Triumvirate are considered a member of the Peripherian league, with a single seat representing the allied worlds.
