The Persican nobility are the Noble Houses and Peers of the Star Kingdom. The nobility has played a major role in shaping the history of the star nation since the Technomantic War. Scions of noble Houses may stand for appointment to the legislative Circle of Archons or House of Barons, dining rights in the House of Lords, position in the formal order of precedence, the right to certain titles, and the right to an audience with the monarch. About a third of privately-owned Persican land is owned by the noble Houses. House Corvida has solely reigned as monarchs of the Star Kingdom since its Unification in 2953, the dynasty comprising ten monarchs over 465 years (seven kings and three queens).
In the noble hierarchy, there are four superior titles: King/Queen, addressed as Your Majesty; Duke/Duchess, addressed as Your Mightiness; Margrave/Marquess, addressed as Your Grace; and Baron/Baroness, addressed as Your Eminence. An ancillary title is given to the heirs of the monarch. The Heir Apparent, the oldest living son or daughter: Crown Prince/Crown Princess, addressed as Your Highness; the Heirs Presumptive, subordinate sons and daughters: Prince/Princess, also addressed as Your Highness. All ancillary title holders, except for Princes and Princesses but including the scions of the noble Houses, are addressed as (My) Lord/(My) Lady. The wife of a reigning King is the Queen; the husband of a Queen is the Prince Consort.
Each of the noble Houses are headed by a primus/prima, indicated in their name with an "o" before the House name. Reigning monarchs add Rex/Regina after their House name. The oldest and most influential Houses changed their names after Unification, conforming to the new monarchy and aligning themselves more closely with the Royal House of Corvida. Later, when the most prominent icons of flora and fauna were claimed, noble Houses either slow to adopt a new name or Houses newly titled retained their traditional family names. Some of the Major Houses, notably House Serran, have done so since before Unification. Major Houses have sigils, minor Houses do not. When two nobles are married, the higher ranking house (in order of precendence) assumes the new addition, regardless of gender - a male or female marrying into a higher House would take the higher House's name.
Peers are the current and former governors general and knights of the realm; these are not hereditary titles, but rather appointments of merit from the Crown. Jaerls/Jaerlas are governors general - Crown representatives to planetary governments - and are addressed as Your Excellency. Ser/Daem is the title and address given to the members of the chivalrous Order of Tyr, which has within it three classes: Member (OTM), Officer (OTO), and Commander (OTC). Nobles can also be granted knighthood by the monarch; noble knights are addressed as Lord Ser/Lady Daem.

The style "by the Grace of the Gods" was added by King Cambrius, who considered himself and his line to be ruling by the divine right of the Runic gods, and so king/queen was not a title in its own right. The style "Protector of the Realm" refers to the monarch's position as the Commander-in-Chief of the Persican military, CrownForce. The style "First Father/Mother of Warlocks" was added by Queen Rheannon III in 3414, in reference to the monarch's position as High Chancellor of Triskelion Academy. The term is derived from the ancient title of First Mother, who was the ruler of Amaranth before Unification.

ORDER OF PRECEDENCE
The Order of Precedence of the Star Kingdom of Persica is the sequential hierarchy for Persican nobility, officers of state, members of the Order of Tyr, and other persons in the legal jurisdictions within the Star Kingdom. The first section of the order of precedence was decreed by King Cambrius in 2953, based on the order in which the rulers of each world joined (voluntarily or not) the Unification Campaign. The latter half is by date of settlement.
