History
Early History
Hydar Fleet Systems was founded sometime in the 2810's by a group of wealthy Ossyrian merchant families. These wealthy households, headed by the Hydar family, joined together with the intent of establishing the largest and most efficient shipyards in the known galaxy. With the backing of the Ossyrian Imperial crown, these wealthy families commissioned the construction of six large scale orbital shipyard complexes. The project faced opposition from not only without, but within. Dissent among the merchant families lead to the signing of the Inheritance Exemption in 2901 CE, which gave the Hydar family perpetual control over Hydar Fleet Systems and its assets.
During the turbulent years of the Ionian Spring and the Crisis of the 31st Century, Hydar Fleet Systems backed the rising Ossyrian confederate government in the planets civil war, arming and supplying their forces in the field. On a number of occasions Hydar Fleet Systems deployed the Hydar Defense Group; a newly established subsidiary that acted as the armed security for Hydar’s orbital and surface assets during the ongoing conflict. On more than one occasion Hydar Fleet Systems engaged with other corporate entities on and around Ossyria. By the end of the conflict, Hydar Fleet Systems had annexed two former rivals, and had established a monopoly over the systems starship manufacturing industry. By the time of the Crisis of the 31st Century it was known as a first-class ship builder within the Ionian Caldera. In the years that followed, the shipyards became noted for building warships that served in the Ossyrian Common Navy throughout well up until the end of the Ionian Wars.
Hydar Fleet Systems was not a top tier shipyard, however; that title was held by the triumvirate made up of Aepos Naval Technology, Erasona Drive Yards, and Ptelean NavTec. HFS set its sights on becoming a member of this group, and engaged in a vicious competition with Aepos Naval Technology. Between price wars, industrial espionage, and more underhanded tactics, Aepos Naval Technology suffered severe losses and was forced to sell its assets. In — Hyder Fleet Systems bought the company and its assets, turning it into a subsidiary.
