The League of Sovereign Nations of the Periphery, also known as the Peripherian League, is a intergovernmental military-trade alliance between the Peripherian nations, implementing the Treaty of Erylkis of 3397. The Peripherian League’s key principles revolve around regional defense against outside aggressors, work to ensure peaceful movement of people and product between all nations within the Periphery of the Eastward Rim, and come to the aide of smaller nations under duress. The Peripherian League’s headquarters are located in Eresada, Pelidion, Ionian League, while the headquarters of Allied High Command is outside Naxaphos, Pelidion.
The five regional powers—Empire of Gaennaan, Covenant of Edom, Ionian League, Valais Imperium, and Thaedonean Federation—collectively fund 90% of the necessary operational military expenditures conducted in the Periphery, whereas the last 10% is funded by the smaller member-nations. Piracy and civil conflict are the most wide-spread problems the Periphery currently faces, though the League continues to diligently preparing for future conflicts with the Holy Empyrean See.

History
A Region of Conflict
The Holy Empyrean See launched its 5th Crusade on 01.06.2814 catching the Covenant of Edom by surprise. The conflict lasted nine years, but changed the course of Peripherian history forever. The Empire of Gaennaan, seeing that the Edomites would not last against an extended conflict, deployed troops onto foreign space for the first time. The then-fractured precursor to the Ionian League was divided into the Ptelean and Ossan Kingdoms whose concern for the Empyrean-Edomite conflict was equally separated. While the Pteleans fought along side the Edomites, the Ossans were on the other side of the sector and entirely uninterested in the ordeal. To take part in the fighting, the Empire needed to sail through Ossan space who denied the Gaennid expeditionary forces passage. The Imperial fleet pressed on, determined to push the Empyreans back, and was forced to destroyed the Ossan fleet that amassed to stop them. Though the Ossans suffered the beginning of their downfall, the Empyreans were beaten back and the Covenant of Edom saved.
The Empire of Gaennaan's Bannerman's War followed on 27.05.2833 after the failed Cloakman's Coup and dragged the Gaennid tribes into a civil war that lasted three years.

Latter Civil Wars
Though the greater civil wars waged in the Empire of Gaennaan and the Ionian League had occurred hundreds of years previously, and with the threat of another Empyrean crusade becoming less of an immediate possibility, the Periphery continued to face civil and foreign conflict between the smaller inhabitants. The super powers were forced to intervene in more than one instance where barbarism and crimes against humanity were reported.

Formation
The League of the Sovereign of the Periphery was founded on 24.02.3397, with the Treaty of Erylkis as a Treaty of Alliance and Mutual Assistance should the Holy Empyrean See conduct another Crusade into the region.
Following the establishment of the Peripherian League, the Eastward Rim entered into a period of unbridled peace, one that had never been seen before. Save for small mitigating conflicts such as the Tolean Intervention, the Eastward Rim enjoyed an era of peace.

Structure
International Assembly
The International Assembly (IA) is the body of governance that holds authority over the LSNP and is made up of permanent representatives from member states. Chaired by the Secretary General, the Assembly convenes as needed to make important decisions regarding the Peripherian League's policies. When policy must be decided upon, there must be a unanimous consensus for any topics to be passed. In keeping with the spirit of the League, nations retain their sovereignty and thus take full responsibility for their decisions and actions.
Peripherian Military Council
The Peripherian Military Council (PMC) is the body of the LSNP made up of member states' appointed military officers that act as national military representatives as well as permanent military advisors, Military Officer Advisors (MOA), to the Peripherian Assembly on military strategy and policy. MOA representatives are often OF-8 or OF-9 flag officers and meet two to three times a week to review policies and current military evolutions that are taking place. The PMC is lead by a chairman who is the Periphery's supreme military commander.
Allied High Command
The Allied High Command (AHC) is the military organization that oversees the combative elements of the LSNP, the Peripherian Peacekeeping Forces, that operate throughout the Eastward Rim. Currently, military evolutions revolve around anti-piracy, counter-criminal, and wide-scale defensive training operations throughout the Periphery.
In times of war, AHC will theoretically act as the joint-operations command for the entire Allied Peripherian armed forces though no large scale military training maneuvers have ever been attempted by the Peripherian League given perceived acts of aggression and the half-committed nature of Al-Aitihad. Efforts at a creating a coherent order of operations is still underway, but concerns and demands by all participating nations has made progress slow. Recent tensions from super powers Galactic-South of the Periphery have breathed new life into the topic, however, and made previous inflexibility more accommodating.
Peripherian Peacekeeping Forces
The Peripherian Peacekeeping Forces (PPF) is the primary arm and focus for the Peripherian League's active international operations. Made of units donated by the nations that can spare them, these servicemen and women are capable of joint exercises that encapsulates each nation's preferred tactics so they are deployed effectively during peacekeeping missions. Units are often small but well armed and armored to deal with any threat that presents themselves when keeping the peace.
Soldiers of the PPF are known also by their slang term, White Caps, drawn from their white-colored helmets when they aren't actively camouflaged.
Peripherian Arbiters
The Augmented Orbital-Insertion Tactical Reconnaissance (ABITR) Division, or Arbiter Division, is the internationally-manned and -equipped special operations branch of the Peripherian Peacekeeping Forces. Teams are assembled of Tier-1 operatives from throughout the Peripherian nations, no matter their status as a state responsible for providing to the Peacekeeping Forces, a Nation of the Guard, or a member-nation. If a military’s special forces operative is able to pass the rigorous tests for acceptance into the Arbiters, they will be reassigned into a battalion and team that would best use their abilities and training. Because the time and effort required to train soldiers of different nationalities to work as a coherent team, all Arbiters are attached to their battalions for at least for ten years though they may be cycled through teams as needed.
Peripherian Training Command
The Peripherian Training Command (PTC) focuses on training groups of international troops to cooperate using their national tactics to create a cohesive fighting force capable of complex maneuvers and tactics to successfully defeat any given opponent.
Bureau of Humanitarian Service
Special Search & Rescue
Celestial-Naval-Terrestrial Emergency Retrieval (CNTERL) Service, or known as “Central Teams,” is a multi-theater operational service that provides special recovery and rescue teams to dangerous areas or rescue operations that are inherently dangerous. CNTERLS is separated into several different categories of specialists that train for every thinkable situation within their given field whether it be void, aquatic, or terrain operations. On the scene, Central Teams are capable of providing first-responder medical attention in preparation for transportation to a medical facility. The sole difference are void operation teams who work aboard something of a mobile hospital and emergency rescue vehicle in one.

Founding Nations
Empire of Gaennaan
The Empire of Gaennaan is an monarchic tribal federation located along the galactic-southern Periphery made of a congress of tribes that, together, create a unique and ever-changing culture. The Empire is the oldest power in the Eastward Rim, her spanning over 800 years, that slowly came to possess six 20ly-in-diameter regions along the Interstellar Alliance northeastern and Threshold Meritocracy's northern boarders. Despite their numerous civil and international conflicts, the Empire has maintained the largest military and most powerful economy of the Peripherian nations. It stands at the head of the Peripherian Assembly, providing the bulk of the LSNP's military forces.
Ionian League
The Ionian League, also known as the League of Ionian States, or simply Ionia, is a representative parliamentary republic located at the heart of the Eastward Rim, constructed of numerous states and colonies established throughout the Ionian’s long history. Having come to the rise relatively late in the Periphery's history, the Ionian League have quickly cemented themselves as a major geopolitical power within the region, swiftly spread throughout four regions in the span of only four hundred years. Since the end of the Ionian Wars in 3345, they have come to poses one of the largest militaries and economic bases within the Eastward Rim, enough to rival the far older Gaennid Empire, with four sector fleets comprised of a myriad of battle fleets, coupled with numerous other adjacent branches within the Unified Ionian Military.
Covenant of Edom
The Covenant of Edom, or simply the Covenant, is a theocratic monarchy situated in the Eastward Periphery, north of the Ionian League and Empire of Gaennaan. The Covenant is relatively small in terms of size compared to its neighbors, but makes up for this with mysterious scientific and technological knowledge and military power. The Covenant itself is made up of ruling noble families all collectively under the Covenant banner, and overseen by the Church of Eos, the Covenant's state religious body. The Covenant is one of the key and founding members of the League of the Periphery of the Eastward Rim, formed in no small part due to wariness of the Holy Empyrean See directly to its west.
Valais Imperium
The Valais Imperium is a small nation that borders the Covenant of Edom and the Holy Dominion of the Empyrean See. The Empire maintains a steady alliance with Neighbours to the South, primarily the Covenant of Edom, Intersystem Alliance, and to the far south with the Empire of Gaennan and the Isharan Eisharat. Due to the Empire’s proximity to the Holy Dominion, the Empire has been under a state of internal and external turmoil for neigh on a century, with its many neighbors gearing up for the invasions they consider to be guaranteed shortly.
Thaedonian Federation
The Federation of Thaedonea, or simply Thaedonea, are a parliamentary federation of clans that reside both planetside and scattered throughout Thaedonean space. Thaedonea rests galactic northeast of the Empire of Gaennaan, galactic east of the Ionian League, galactic southeast of the Covenant of Edom, and is the fourth-largest nation in the Periphery of the Eastward Rim.
Member-Nations
Though unable to provide an effective fighting force to add to regional peacekeeping or wartime defense, the member-nations of the Peripherian League are the economic backbone to the military-trade alliance.
Meridian Republic
The Meridian Republic, also known as the Republic of Meridian.
Grand Archonate of Sadar
The Grand Archonate of Sadar, also known simply as Yenea-Kybris (Kybrish: Yεnέα Κύβrıs), is small yet economically powerful nation state sitting in the mean in terms of age, established during the 2900's. It sits nestled between the Gaennid Empire and the Ionian League, and has for centuries acted as a bridge between the two powers. Its location has seen commerce flow through the Gulf of Sadar even before its establishment, setting the stage for its rise to geopolitical prominence over the course of five hundred years. Its small yet well trained and well armed military, once geared to check the expansionist dreams of would be annexation, now patrols and protects the jump lanes in and around Yenea-Kybris. The Grand Archonate officially joined the Peripherian League in the early 35th Century, despite having backed the LSNP financially since its inception.
Othman Kingdom
The Kingdom of the House of Othman, also known as the Othman Kingdom, is a small, ancient nation that established itself after the rise of the Empire of Gaennaan as former Gaennid tribesmen. It has maintained its independence by virtue of distance from both the Ionians and the Gaennai. Situated on the old Hillaziz Road between the Shroud of Gaenna and the Ionian Star Cluster, it is a critical jump-point between Ionian League and Imperial space and has thus supported itself economically through its role as an important trade hub and waypoint between nations. It possesses a robust infrastructure and small-but-well equipped defensive military as well as a faithful/loyal citizenry.

Imperialism
Following the conclusion of the Second Tolean Civil War, the Peripherian Council's decision to maintain Periphery White Caps on world was taken poorly by other, smaller, independent states of the Baqqiri Marches. Many minor national bodies decried the Peripherian Council, calling their continued "occupation" of Tolea an act of imperialist annexation. The situation escalated further after several nations within the Baqqiri Marches closed their borders to Ionian and Gaennai merchant vessels, beginning the brief Baqqiri Stagnate.
Lasting only a year, the Stagnate came to a close following the signing and ratification of the Free Worlds Treaty, a document that legally bound the Peripherian League to acknowledge the independence of the Baqqiri micro-states. Turning them into quasi-protectorates of the League.
