CrownForce (Persican: Kronaggrim) is the military of the Star Kingdom of Persica. The Star Kingdom has approximately 200 million personnel in the Forces, both active and reserve, about 1% of the total population. Accordingly, defence spending per unit is relatively high and, as such, maintains a moderately well-equipped and well-trained military – though the size of CrownForce is dwarfed by those of larger star nations. CrownForce is equipped almost entirely by manufacturing corporation Ravendyne Defence Industries (RDI), its subsidiaries, and associates. Vessels, vehicles, craft, and equipment is produced in one of several Ravendyne manufacturing facilities across the star nation.
The monarch holds the title and office of Commander-in-Chief of CrownForce and appoints its leaders, the Consul Legatus and the Praetori Legati. The main objectives of the Persican military are to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the realm, deter foreign aggression, and promote the Star Kingdom’s ideals and interests across the galaxy. The Consul Legatus (Minister of Defense) is responsible for the operational command of all the Forces, and is advised by the three Praetori Legati (Command Officers).
Though CrownForce is a unified organization comprising many departments and services including the Marines and home-defence Guards, operations tend to fall into one of two areas: the Navy (CFN), responsible for celestial (spaceborne) operations; and the Army (CFA), responsible for terrestrial operations – also known colloquially as “Up” and “Down” by service members. There is no separate sky force - skycraft and starcraft are part of their constituent branch. The Star Kingdom’s military is currently an all-volunteer force.

Etymology
The name CrownForce was devised by King Cambrius in 3007, rebranding the former Royal Persican Armed Forces as a unified structure and as an executor of the will of the Crown.
History
Shortly after Unification in 2953, King Cambrius reorganized the surviving elements of the militaries from the ten worlds of the new star kingdom, founding the Royal Persican Armed Forces. Originally consisting of three branches - the Army, Navy, and Sky Force - the RPAF was the first cohesive military in the region. Immediately upon founding, King Cambrius set about modernizing and replenishing the military, establishing manufactories and securing domestic production rights from the Kingdom of Eirangard and Intersystem Alliance, constructing classes of frigates and corvettes from those neighbouring star nations when not purchasing them outright. In 3007, boasting a military capable of defending Cambrius' still-nascent kingdom, the Royal Persican Armed Forces were reorganized and renamed CrownForce. The former Sky Force branch was divided between the Army and Navy, with atmospheric craft joining the former and starcraft the latter.
CrownForce was instrumental in providing a relatively safe environments for exploration and expansion in the Serran Expanse and Maglothin Reach sectors, and has always been a vigilant and formidable foe against pirates and smugglers. An incident in 3021 involving the destruction of four cruisers and consequent death of the king's brother at the hands of rogue technomancer Murasaki Quinn directly resulted in the nationalization of technomancy in the Star Kingdom and the formation of Ministry of Defence Section Zero, or Cypher.
After centuries of purchasing and building naval vessels of foreign design, King Cade III became interested in a project proposal from the Ministry of Defence: Project Blacklance. An ambitious endeavour, Blacklance proposed to design and construct starships entirely within the Star Kingdom, utilizing local resources and contractors. The king soon sponsored the project and, in 3384, domestic engineering and manufacturing company Ravendyne Defence Industries undertook the programme, beginning with the Vanovar-class escort carrier. While a number of military vessels from neighbouring nations still operate in Persica - most notably, Eirangard's King Edvard-class battlecruiser - the bulk of navy vessels are of Project Blacklance classes.
Structure
CROWNFORCE NAVY
The CrownForce Navy is the naval warfare service branch of the Persican armed forces and the smaller branch of service. It is a voidborne navy with the ability to project force into the Persican sectors and other regions of local space, engage in forward areas during peacetime where needed, and rapidly respond to regional crises, making it an active player in Persican foreign and defense policy. The current role of the Navy is to protect Persican interests at home and abroad, executing the foreign and defense policies of the Crown and Government through the exercise of military effect, diplomatic activities, and joint operations with allies, and other activities in support of these objectives.
CrownForce Marines
The CrownForce Marines are the Star Kingdom’s light fighting force, organized under the Navy. As a highly-specialized and adaptable light fighting force, the Marines are trained for rapid deployment and capable of dealing with a wide range of threats. The Marines operate in all environments and climates, working closely with the Army on the ground and in atmosphere, and in space as security forces on board naval starships, expeditionary infantry, and as pilots.
CROWNFORCE ARMY
The CrownForce Army is the larger branch of the Persican military and performs terrestrial military operations – land, sea, and sky. The Army maintains a number of bases on every planet in the Star Kingdom and relies on superior training, equipment, and tactics to defeat numerically superior enemy forces.
CrownForce Guards
The CrownForce Guards comprise the home defence units of every planet in the Star Kingdom, organized under the Army. Guard units can be mobilized for active duty to supplement regular armed forces during times of war or during a national emergency declared by Parliament, the Monarch, or the Consul Legatus. They can also be activated for service on their respective planets upon declaration of a state of emergency by the Margrave/Marquess. The Guards' mission is to ensure the security and defence of the inhabited star systems and protect local operations both ground- and space-based. As such, Guard units include small starships, starcraft, skycraft, vehicles, sprites (drones), and infantry, as well as AI and VI assets.

Crownforce Academy
CrownForce Academy is where recruits to CrownForce's officer corps are trained. Originally named the Royal Persican Military College, it was created in the year 2954, a year after the Royal Persican Armed Forces were founded. The Academy's motto, serially connected to that of CrownForce, is Ex scientia, potentia (L.) / Ex siiska, staerska (P.) / From knowledge, strength (SE). The main campus of the Academy is located near The Hive, in Califaxis on Persica Prime. There are other campuses, most notably in Palladia on Serratanis and Nauvoo on Deseret, serving as educational hubs for Persica's other two sectors.
Ministry of Defence HQ - The Hive
The Star Kingdom of Persica Ministry of Defence Headquarters, known commonly as The Hive because of its honeycomb appearance, is located in the Barony of Califaxis on Persica Prime. As a symbol of the Persican military, the phrase The Hive, is often used as a metonym for the Ministry of Defence and its leadership. The building was designed by Persican architect Gillam R. VanChen and built by contractor Thamis Orm. Ground was broken on 23 Maius 3019 and the building was dedicated on 9 Novembris 3020. Command Admiral Lord Barwen Aquila provided the proposal and political motivation for the project; General Prêa Edmunsdaatr was responsible for overseeing the project for CrownForce. The building is rather large in size, each of its seven hexagonal sections is two hundred meters at the widest points. This equals a footprint of nearly 25,981 sq. m (85,240 sq. ft.) for each Hex, and a total area of 181,865 sq. m (596,670 sq. ft.) for each of the building's one hundred stories. In total, more than 18 million square meters of office space comprise The Hive - a colossal edifice that comfortably houses the administrative complex for a military spanning three sectors and twenty-five worlds.
Six of the seven Hexes are devoted to the administration of a different parts of the Ministry of Defence. These are: Navy Hex, Army Hex, Marine and Guard Hex, Intelligentia Militarum Hex, Cypher Hex, and the Ministry Hex. The seventh, central Hex is devoted to engineering and maintenance, as well as common and green spaces. On the topmost level is an open-air green space known as The Meadow.
Crown Compulsory Service Agency
Persica’s military is currently an all-volunteer force. However, the Crown Compulsory Service Agency (CCSA), an independent agency within the Crown and Government of the Star Kingdom of Persica, maintains a database of information on those potentially subject to military conscription. All Persican citizens and immigrant non-citizens (residents), who are between the ages of 17 and 55 are required by law to have registered within thirty-six days of their 17th birthdays or as a condition of residency, and must notify CCSA within twenty-one days of any changes to any of the information they provided on their registration cards, such as a change of address. In practice, the compulsory service system has minimal practical effect today since CrownForce operates on a volunteer basis. Nevertheless, it is seen as a contingency mechanism in case conscription ever becomes necessary.
Registration with CCSA is also required for various federal programs and benefits, including educational sponsorships and grants, job training, government employment, and naturalization - receiving immigration data from the Ministry of Domestic Affairs. The CCSA provides the names of all registrants to the Ministry of Defence for inclusion in the recruitment database. The names are distributed to CrownForce for recruiting purposes on a quarterly basis. Regulations for the CCSA are codified in Royal Persican Law.
