The Migrant Fleets of Sharaad (Busaanese: Baddatil Va’ale Badawel min al-Sharaad /ˌbɑd.dɑˈtil vɑʔɑlə bɑ.dɑ.wɛl mɪn ɑl•ʃɑ.ɽɑːd/), known formally as the Rahaabate of Busaan, is a thalassocracy supported by several large vassal clan-states, allied under the banner of the Sharaadi Rahaabate, who have historically inhabited regions of the Eastward Rim. Sharaadi territory stretches from the vast uncharted space of the Glimmering Hinterlands beyond the Eastward Rim to the wild frontiers of the Westward Fringe. They are traditionally divided into clans (Busaanese: asheyrat /ʌʃ.ɛi.ɽɑt/) and share a common culture of maritime trade and exploration. The vast majority of Sharaadi adhere to Aittigism.
At the Rahaabate’s head is the Rahaab’d of Ghanem asheyrat, who have ruled from the Gilded Throne for over a century. With the guiding hand of the Ghanemid Rahaabate, the several hundred-thousand migrant fleets and millions of clans under their charge have established a wide-reaching maritime empire that spans the breadth of civilized space and beyond.
The migrant fleets of the Sharaadi have a long and bloody history, from the exiled followers of the Baqqiri to the astral nomads of the modern day Sharaadi. The Migrant Fleets themselves have existed and operated throughout the known galaxy for over eight hundred years since their unification under Nu’maan the Red, the first Rahaab. Since then their history has been pitted with numerous internal conflicts, ideological feuds, and political turmoil. Yet peace has reigned since the rise of the Ghanem Rahaabate in 3282.

Cartography
Scattered among hundreds if not thousands of fleets across the Known Galaxy, the Sharaadi occupy no territory in the traditional sense, negating traditional borders through their great migrations. They occupy stellar fleets of starships ranging in size and scope, roving the stars from one nation to the next to trade. At their heart is the Great Fleet, the largest of all known fleets. It is from the Great Fleet that the Rahaab rules over the greater Sharaadi houses and their vassals from atop the Gilded Throne.
The fleets of the Sharaadi Rahaabate can be split into two categories; the Glittering Fleets of the major houses, and the Lesser Fleets of the minor houses. The Lesser Fleets of the Rahaabate are the numerous vassal fleets sworn to the Glittering Fleets of the six major asheyrat'd. The lesser fleets can vary in size and scope, from a small collection of freighters with an armoured escort to a fleet numbering over a hundred vessels with its own micro-ark. The greater houses of the Sharaadi are designated a Fife of Migration within which they may roam, usually stretching hundreds if not thousands of light years in length and breadth. These migration zones have, since the Seven Reforms of Liir, allowed the Sharaadi migrants to live in relative harmony. Within these Fife's of Migration, the Lesser Fleets of the Six Asheyrat'd roam freely under the banner of their Tajiir K'han.
The only physical territory the Sharaadi consider their own is the Glimmering Hinterlands, a vast expanse of dense and resource-rich dust clouds and nebula. Within the miasma of astral debris sits the Crypt of Busaan and its sacred Dancing Grounds. Around Buusan orbits the Tomb of Ashaan—the tomb world of the Sharaadi Tajiir K'haniid and Rahaabiid.
The Great Fleet of Sharaad
The Great Fleet of Sharaad is the political and cultural of the Sharaadi Rahaabate, and is the largest, oldest and most influential of the migrant fleets. Since 3282 CE the Ghanemid asheyrat has ruled from the Great Ark of Sharaad and its Gilded Throne, and from 3391 CE Adaan Ghanem has ruled as its Rahaab. Many Sharaadi Rahaabiid have sat upon the Gilded Throne and just as many have died there. The Great Fleet is steeped in as much history as it is blood. Throughout most of Sharaadi history, it has remained the centre of Sharaadi society one way or another, even during times such as the Fracture. The Great Fleet is comprised of thousands of vessels of varying origin and age. The Great Ark of Sharaad acts as a man-made harbour for over a thousand vessels of varying size, and billions call it home.
Whilst the history of the Great Ark of Sharaad stretch back further than the Great Fleet, the fleet itself came into being during the Suluush Rahaabate and the Sharaadi's expeditions outside of the Glimmering Hinterlands in the early 29th century. After the first contact was made with their long distant brothers of the Gaennid Empire, the Great Fleet came into form and began to slowly expand, adding ships to their number as they followed the Aittijah. By the collapse of the Suluush Rahaabate in 3009 CE the great fleet numbered over six hundred starships of varying sizes and types. The collapse of the Suluush Rahaabate and the War for Sharaad would lead to the period of interregnum that was the Fracture, from which the Asheyrat of Ahmad would usurp the Gilded Throne and establish themselves as Rahaab.
It would not be until the rise of Liir Kamara that the Sharaadi once again became a united people. Through his jihad he re-established the dominance of the Great Fleet and brought the distant fleets, both great and small, back under the influence of the Gilded Throne; yet the rule of the Kamaran Dynasty would not last long. In one night of bloodshed in 3279 CE, Kamara asheyrat was extinguished in what is known as the Night of a Hundred Knives. Following the fall of the Great Fleet and the ascension of Aliim the Damned to the Gilded Throne, the Sharaadi Rahaabate teetered on the brink of utter collapse. In 3280 CE the Sharaad and its warships opened fire on the defenseless migrant fleets of Solanti, Atallah, and Caediir which had gathered in the shadow of Ashaan, scattering their corpses across the surface of the tomb world in what is remembered as the Massacre of the Dancing Grounds. In 3282 CE Asheyrat Ghanem ascended to the Gilded Throne after the death of Aliim the Damned and the crushing defeat of his Nasrallah followers.
Under the rule of Ghanem asheyrat the Great Fleet grew once more, bringing it back to a height of power it had not enjoyed since the reign of the Suluush Rahaabiid. The establishment of a Sharaadi standing navy, as well as numerous of wide-reaching reforms, ensured that the mistakes of the past would never be repeated.

Crypt of Busaan
The Crypt of Busaan is the singular star system inhabited by Sharaadi. Located far to the east of borders of the Gaennid Empire, the Crypt of Busaan is nestled deep within the Glimmering Hinterlands, in a region of space known as the Whispering Shoal. The Crypt of Busaan is connected to the rest of the known galaxy by a singular, well guarded Termini Corridor; the Bridge of Tears. The star system of Busaan is composed of three planets and six gas giants, and at its centre sits mighty Busaan.
Busaan, with its arid nigh inhospitable worlds and its dying dwarf star is considered the most holiest of grounds for the Sharaadi, for within it exist the Dancing Grounds and the tomb world of Ashaan. Busaan is brought to life during the festival of the Hisaad, where the light of its dying star is dwarfed by the glittering splendor of Sharaad and its fleets.
Tomb of Ashaan
The tomb world of Ashaan is third planet in orbit of Busaan, and the barely hospitable desert world home to the surface dwelling Sharaadi clans. The only habitable regions on the planets surface are located around its polar regions, where the would be ice-caps form great seas. It is around these two great seas that the surface dwelling Sharaadi make their home, migrating across vast and arid grasslands.
Ashaan is the resting place for many Rahaab'd and Tajiir K'han'd over the past millennia, all interned in splendid tomb complexes fashioned out of black stone. The greatest of these complexes is the Murmur of Nu'maan, a great valley in the encircling mountains of the north pole, where the first Rahaab'd Nu'maan the Red, his descendants and successors have all been interned.
Overlooked throughout much of Sharaadi history, Ashaan suffered during the Nasrallah Revolts. Three great Arks of the Sharaadi lay to rest upon the surface of Ashaan, felled by the usurper and forever bloodying the Dancing Grounds. The Ark of Atallah lies silent on the shores of the Sea of Ayy, watched over and tended to by Asheyrat Ayyid. The Ark of Solanti lies lost in the great desert that bands the world of Ashaan, and the Ark of Caediir lies dormant half buried in the sands beyond the great barrier mountains.
History
The Migrant Fleets of Sharaad have a long and turbulent history. The events considered independent of Isharan influence span some 829 years, from the --- in 2588 to the present. Sharaadi history is long and bloody; from the rise of Nu'maan the Red and the establishment of the Busaan Rahaabate, through the turbulent and bloody centuries to the Peace of Umiir.
Since the formation of the Rahaabate in the shadow of the tomb world of Ashaan, the Great Fleet has been fractured and reunited on a number of occasions, giving to the rise of the modern day Glittering Fleets such as Tanis, Lahun and Buliir and hundreds of other Sharaadi migrant fleets that wander the astral pathways of the Known Galaxy. Two such occasions took place; the Scattering after the sudden death of Borahan I in 3030 and again after the death of Ya’eesh Kamara in 3232 following a successful Nasrallah slave revolt, leading to the War of Woe.
The Sharaadi would not again be reunited until the rise of Umiir I Ghanem in 3265 following the victorious actions of Sayif-Twil on the surface of Ashaan, yet the Nasrallan revolt had severely weakened the Sharaadi. Three Arks lay buried in the sands of Ashaan, with an uncountable amount of other vessels lost during the revolt and subsequent counter attack. The Ghanemi Rahaabate has striven for over a century to rebuild the strength and power of the Sharaadi Rahaabate, heralding in an age of expansion with the establishment of numerous fifes of migration, free ports and trade links across the Known Galaxy.
As of the 3400's the Sharaadi are among the greatest political and economical forces in the Known Galaxy, controlling the ebb and flow of trade-able goods across known space. Under the undisputed rule of the Ghanem dynasty the Sharaadi thrive in a second golden age, once again expanding the network of their maritime empire.

Government
Compared to their Isharan and Gaennai cousins, the Sharaadi follow a strict feudalistic monarchy supported by a number of clan-centric fleets rather than a confederation of clans. The Sharaadi, though, still uphold the Jabal caste system which break the asheyrat'd into several sociopolitical castes of varying political influence; the Clan (Busaanese: asheyrat /ʌʃ.ɛi.ɽɑt/), the Neighbour (Busaanese: le'jiira|khyet//) and the Multitude (Busaanese: kythar//). Each of these clan-states pay tribute to and are subject to the will of the Gilded Throne and the Rahaabate dynasty presiding over it.
The central cog in the governance of the Rahaabate is the Glittering Houses (Busaanese: asheyrat at'ta'aluq//), the legislative and judicial branch of the Rahaabate. The Asheyrat At'ta'aluq is made up of the Tajiir K'han'd of the multitude of major and minor Asheyrat and Khyet families strewn across the expanse of the Sharaadi's maritime empire. In conjunction with the sitting Rahaabe the Asheyrat At'ta'aluq manage the necessary legislative and judicial tasks that unwarranted the full attention of the Rahaabe.
The full extent of the Asheyrat At'ta'aluq gathers once a standard year at the annual Hisaad festival, in the dancing grounds of Busaan, yet throughout the rest year the Asheyrat At'ta'aluq acts mostly through advisers and ministers appointed by the Rahaab.

Military
The Sharaadi Military is not one singular organization, but a machine made up of numerous component parts, chief of which are the fleets of the Glittering Houses who pay vassalage to the Gilded Throne.
Sharaadi Navy
The Sharaadi Navy (Busaanese: Mufbahri Al'kursii Madhaab) is the trans-tribal naval warfare branch of the Sharaadi Rahaabate, beholden only to the sitting Rahaab. It's primary objective is anti-piracy along the myriad of trade-lanes across the Known Galaxy, as well as the general defence of the Sharaadi's maritime empire. Predominantly comprised of small fleets of middling class warships, the larger wartime vessels of the Sharaadi Rahaabate are often found in close proximity to the Great Ark of Sharaad, or anchored at one of their numerous anchorages within the Glittering Hinterlands. Though the sitting Rahaab has complete, overall dominion of the Sharaadi Navy, its general command falls to the appointed Warmaster of the At'ta'aluq.
Established initially to counter-weight the growing wartime capabilities of the other Glittering Houses following the Nasrallah Uprising, the Sharaadi Navy has become a lynch pin in the overall dominance of the Gilded Throne in the two hundred years since its establishment, negating open warfare between the Sharaadi tribes and forcing civil conflicts into the shadows, mitigating the overall damage capable of being dealt to the Sharaadi and their delicately balanced thalassocracy.
A primary objective of the Sharaadi Navy in recent years has been the establishment of Watch Stations across the northern and south-western borders of civilized space, to check the growing power of the expanding outcasts of the Rahaabate; the Jiheti and the Ahmadi fleets.
